Oh, the dreadful time of day when you realize you have forgotten all day to do any type of exercise, and all you want to do now is go to bed. Believe me, I’ve been there and done that. I still have days where get carried away doing things and I end up working out a nine p.m. But hey, that’s life sometimes. Here are some of my personal tips I use to stay active during the day and get my workout in!
1. Schedule your workout into your day!
Sure, it seems like a no-brainer, but the number of times I’ve gone through my day saying “I’ll workout when I get time” is ridiculous. I always try to schedule my day the night before or at least make a rough draft of what I need to get done. So I can figure out if I need to wake up an hour early or stay up an hour later.
2. Find a workout that fits your schedule
I know not everyone has an extra hour to spend but there are some amazing 30 minute workouts out there! I love a good HIIT (high-intensity interval Training) workout, and they are usually 30 minutes or less and amazing for burning fat whilst building muscle.
3. Try a fitness tracker
A fitness tracker is a huge help when it comes to staying active throughout the day! (Try to get 10,000 steps a day!) I have the Fitbit Charge 2 and it is amazing for keeping track of my steps, and it evens gives you a reminder to try to get 250 steps each hour. I will leave some of my favorite trackers down below!
4. Try a “TV” workouts
No, I don’t mean a workout that’s on your TV I mean when it’s a commercial break during your show, make that a time to workout and then you rest while it’s not commercial break! For example, you have about 3 minutes per commercial break, and in that time you can do 45 seconds of squats take a 15 sec break, and then do another 45 seconds of jumping jacks and repeat. hey! After an hour show, you got a full workout in!
5. Find a workout you truly enjoy
When you love your workout it makes it a lot easier to get up at 7 am to workout, trust me! Even though I still have days where I hate working out and some days those turn into unplanned rest days.Sometimes you have to give yourself grace because it’s great to workout, but it is JUST as important to take care of your mental health as well!
Have you tried any of these? Did they work, let me know!
All the love,
Tara
