I’m always asked how or what makes me want to workout what is my motivation to keep going, I have one saying:
“Your body is like a necklace or bracelet.”
What I mean when I say this is: If your great great grandmother gave you an expensive piece of jewelry or a family heirloom as a child, your natural instinct is to protect it. You keep it in a special box, polish it, keep it clean and wear it only on special occasions. Why? Because you want to keep it safe.
So why don’t we think of our bodies that way? We want to grow old, get married, have kids, travel the world and how do you expect your body to do this if you treat it like a garbage bin?! In order to keep something nice, you have to protect it. Take working out, for example. Think of your body as a heirloom necklace and the dirt is the junk food.
Now you’re going to get a little junk food in your body just like the precious trinket WILL get dusty. But just like any piece of jewelry you can clean it and that will restore it to the pristine condition you received it in. Your body works the same way, once you add in a little elbow grease, hard work and commitment, you’ll get to YOUR ideal body.
Just remember you can’t workout just for the aesthetic appeal, you have to do it because you want to. I believe there is a workout out there that you will love! For me, it’s POPpilates.
